This page explains how to delete your Digital Shoppy account and the personal data linked to it. It applies to accounts created in the Digital Shoppy mobile app and on digitalshoppy.in, which are the same account.
Digital Shoppy is operated by Digital Shoppy Newcom Limited, 1st Floor, Flat No 103, 104 & 105, Sri Sai Sadan Apartment, Yousuf Guda Road, Upstairs to Ushodaya Apartments, Hyderabad, Telangana 500073, India.
How to request deletion
Email us at customercare@digitalshoppy.in with the subject line Account deletion request.
So we can find your account and confirm it is yours, please include:
- The email address registered to your Digital Shoppy account
- The name on the account
- The registered mobile number, if you have one on file
You do not need the app installed to make this request. You can also call us on +91 97045 54693 and we will take the request over the phone.
We will reply to confirm the request, and we may ask one further question to verify that the account belongs to you before we act on it. We do not charge for this.
What gets deleted
Once your request is verified, we delete:
- Your account and login credentials
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your saved delivery and billing addresses
- Your wishlist, saved items and cart
- Your marketing and communication preferences, and any subscription to our emails or messages
After deletion you will no longer be able to sign in, and you will lose access to your order history in the app and on the website.
What we keep, and why
We are required to keep records of completed purchases. We retain invoice and transaction records containing the details of the sale for the period required by Indian tax and company law. These records are kept for accounting, tax and statutory audit purposes only. They are not used to contact you, they are not used for marketing, and they are not linked to an active account once your account is deleted.
We may also retain a limited record where we are required to for fraud prevention, to resolve a dispute, or to comply with a legal obligation or a lawful request from an authority.
Payment card details are never stored by Digital Shoppy. Payments are handled by our payment provider, and any records they hold are governed by their own retention obligations.
How long it takes
We action verified deletion requests within 30 days. In most cases it is done sooner. We will email you to confirm once it is complete.
If you have an order in progress, we will complete or cancel that order first, and then delete the account.
Deleting from inside the app
You can also reach this page from the Digital Shoppy app: open the menu and choose Delete account under Policies.
